Waylon Reavis

Slickster: Hi Waylon. Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer our questions. How’s Florida treating ya?

WR: We absolutely love it here. Thank you for taking the time for this interview.

Slickster: You just released your new track, Trapped Inside, on April 30, 2021. What do you want to share with your fans about this track and why it is important to you?

WR: It’s a real banger. We all can feel over the last year we have been trapped inside. Self isolation can make you reflect on what really matters, but you can get lost in your own thoughts and create your own prison.

Slickster: Your new track is being released on the Wake Up! Music Rocks label. It’s also where you spend your time as the Head of A&R. How is everything going with the label, and what can we expect to see from Wake Up! Music Rocks in the next few years

WR: Everything is going great and I absolutely love working alongside Pepper Gomez and my wife Julie Reavis. We are in the middle of signing a few new artist and announcements will be made soon! I love working alongside with one of my best friends Sahaj Tiction and RA being on our roster!

Slickster: The creative process is a highly unique and individual experience. How one person creates music, movies or novels is often times extremely different from another’s. Can you please describe what your creative process is and how you achieve success with it.

WR: To be completely honest, I do not try to achieve success. I communicate through my music life experiences. I think where I found success is that it resonates with people, but for my own sanity I write this for myself to express how I’m feeling and how I can cope with what I’m dealing with at the time.

Waylon on the ups and downs of a career in music.

Slickster: You’ve been established in your musical career long enough to have had some major highs and dreaded lows. For all the younger readers out there; Can you share some advice that you wish you would have known at the beginning of your career? Is there something you would have done differently if you knew what you know now?

WR: Man there is so much I would’ve done differently. The one thing I could say the most is check your ego, pay attention to your contracts, and you are not above anyone else and could become another statistic.

Slickster: You often cite your wife, Julie, as major positive factor in helping you quit cocaine and get your life on track. Are there specific ways in which Julie helps steer you to a more successful and happy life?

WR: She takes no shit! Lol. My life is my own to live but if I want to continue to have her in it I must stay the path. It was hard in the beginning but today I don’t ever feel the need or the urge to use anymore whatsoever. Julie and I are a team and we work hard hand-in-hand daily.

Slickster: What’s on the horizon for A Killer’s Confession?

WR: Every 30 days we are releasing a new track. I have some secrets in my pocket that will soon be announced in the next couple months. Once I have released 13 tracks I will print a CD for people to buy that will be very limited, and then I will start releasing my fourth album directly after.

Slickster: Is there anything else we didn’t talk about that you’d like to mention? Tour dates? Concerts? Cancer? Open slate bro! GO!

WR: I have attached my tour dates which we are leaving out next week. I am headlining metal fest in Florida in August, I am playing metal in the mountains and playing Inkcarceration.
