After establishing himself as the renowned Gracie family’s foremost talent in mixed martial arts today, Neiman Gracie, 33, has become a staple of the BELLATOR welterweight division over the past several years. His stellar 11-3 record is replete with exciting finishes, including a dazzling fourth-round submission of the decorated Ed Ruth and a 2021 TKO of Mark Lemminger. Against Yamauchi, Gracie will seek to solidify his status as a title contender in an effort to avenge his razor-thin, split decision loss to now-interim titleholder Storley in February.
Opposite of Gracie come August 12 will be Japanese-Brazilian standout Goiti Yamauchi, 29, who will compete in his second straight welterweight bout after a storied career in BELLATOR’s lightweight division. Like Gracie, Yamauchi has wowed fight fans with his dynamic grappling arsenal. He boasts a whopping 21 submission victories in his 27 professional wins, including a first-round armbar of Levan Chokheli in his most recent outing inside the BELLATOR cage. Yamauchi is keen to add to his submission record, especially against a fighter with Gracie’s own submission prowess.
Valentin Moldavsky, 30, has already held BELLATOR interim gold, and he will aim to begin his road back to the title on August 12 in Sioux Falls. The protege of the legendary Fedor Emelianenko fell short to champion Ryan Bader in his most recent performance, but his road to that fight included impressive victories over veterans in Tim Johnson, Roy Nelson, and the surging Linton Vassell. For Moldavsky, this co-main event tilt with Mowry acts as a chance to cement his status as the division’s top contender and set up a rematch with Bader to finally capture the undisputed title.
Steve Mowry, 29, may stand a towering 6’8” tall, but his aspirations in BELLATOR’s heavyweight division may be even higher. The undefeated Sanford MMA product holds a blistering 100% finish rate as a professional, posting four knockouts alongside his six submissions. Mowry’s dominant ascent through the division has culminated in his biggest fight to date against Moldavsky. With a win, Mowry’s hopes of wearing BELLATOR championship gold would take a massive step forward.
Like Moldavsky, Ilima-Lei Macfarlane, 32, is a former champion working her way back into title contention. Hawaii’s Macfarlane holds records in BELLATOR for the most fights, wins, title fights, and title victories in the BELLATOR flyweight division; her four title defenses and one-time twelve-fight winning streak both rank second in their respective records rankings. This decorated BELLATOR veteran will look to return to her winning ways on August 12 against Bruna Ellen, seeking to snap a two-fight skid as she begins her path to a second title reign.
Bruna Ellen, 25, is among the youngest women in the BELLATOR flyweight division. Like Macfarlane, she suffered a defeat to now-former champion Juliana Vasquez, but her BELLATOR career has been buoyed by wins over Elina Kallionidou, Desiree Yanez, and Veta Arteaga. Gerald Peter, the composer, keyboardist, seaboard player and producer of his creative
project takes the listener on an ongoing musical journey through 10 thematic ‘movements’,
transcending genre boundaries with elements of progressive rock, cinematic, classical, jazz
and electronic music. The album features the versatile drummer Aaron Thier and a few
prominent special guests, including Dream Theater keyboard virtuoso Jordan Rudess, the
award-winning soundtrack vocalist Julie Elven (singer for the game soundtracks of Horizon
Zero Dawn, World of Warcraft) and the high-skilled guitarist Martin Miller.
Gerald Peter was born in Vienna, Austria, 1986, and

One of the biggest stars in BELLATOR MMA, lightweight kingpin Patricky ‘Pitbull’ Freire has thrilled fight fans for over a decade inside the BELLATOR arena with his thunderous power and all-action fighting style. The Brazilian knockout artist, 36, has shared the BELLATOR cage with the likes of Benson Henderson, Roger Huerta, Michael Chandler, and Eddie Alvarez, capturing the lightweight title with a second-round stoppage of fan-favorite Peter Queally in November 2021. Sidney Outlaw, 30, rose to prominence on the regional scene by dominating an impressive slate of opponents and scoring a bevy of highlight-reel submission victories and the Pennsylvania native hasn’t missed a beat since joining the BELLATOR roster. Outlaw’s path to his first title fight was bookended by a win over Huerta and a third-round rear-naked choke stoppage against Myles Jury last June. Former welterweight champion Douglas Lima, 34, has spent over a decade solidifying his place among BELLATOR MMA’s most accomplished and notable fighters. Now the No. 3-ranked welterweight contender, Lima lost his title to champion Yaroslav Amosov and dropped a contentious split-decision to Michael ‘Venom’ Page in his last outing. On July 22, Lima will look to reverse his fortunes and turn back upstart contender Jason Jackson in Tacoma, Washington.
Jason Jackson, 31, is on an absolute tear in the BELLATOR welterweight division. Since dropping his promotional debut to highly-decorated wrestler Ed Ruth in 2019, Jackson has rattled off five straight wins over impressive competition including former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson, Neiman Gracie, and Paul Daley. The Sanford MMA product will look to emerge as a bona fide title contender with a win over Lima at BELLATOR 283.
Usman Nurmagomedov, 24, comes from a family of MMA royalty. The cousin of MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, he has been perfect throughout his professional MMA career to date, including three straight wins in the BELLATOR cage. A dominating grappler whose striking has evolved markedly over his last several fights, Nurmagomedov has cemented his status as a top-5 combatant in the stacked BELLATOR lightweight division. He will look to extend his unbeaten streak to 15 straight with a win at BELLATOR 283.
Seeking to add the first blemish to Nurmagomedov’s perfect record will be Team Alpha Male’s Chris Gonzalez, 30. A member of the U.S. 2016 Greco-Roman World Team and a former NJCAA All–American wrestler, Gonzalez has added a potent striking arsenal to his world-class wrestling background to become a true threat in the lightweight division. Coming off of a 2022 ‘Knockout of the Year’ contender via first-round head kick TKO against Saad Awad, Gonzalez will look to continue his momentum against Usman Nurmagomedov.
Adam Piccolotti, 33, has been on a tear since 2018. An impressive 4-2 over the past four years, the Half Moon Bay, California, native’s only losses during that span have been close split-decision defeats at the hands of #3-ranked Benson Henderson and #1-ranked Sidney Outlaw, who headlines BELLATOR 283. The Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt has scored six submissions as a professional alongside three knockout victories, and he will look to leverage his well-rounded skill set into a second consecutive victory on July 22 as he looks to spoil the promotional debut of Tofiq Musayev.
Tofiq Musayev, 32, will enter the BELLATOR cage for the first time on July 22 as one of the most highly-touted lightweights on the international scene. The Azerbaijani native put his country on the sport’s radar with his dominant run in RIZIN Fighting Federation, which culminated in a unanimous decision tournament championship victory over Patricky Pitbull in 2019. Musayev is a bona fide knockout artist, with 14 of his 18 wins having come by stoppage due to strikes. Musayev will look to immediately make his presence known in the BELLATOR cage in Tacoma, especially on the undercard of a former vanquished foe in ‘Pitbull.’
Romero Cotton, 32, can point to an equally impeccable resume as he enters this battle of undefeated prospects against Rosta. A three-time NCAA DII national champion wrestler at the University of Nebraska at Kearny, Cotton’s wrestling pedigree remains one of the most impressive in all of MMA. Cotton’s 83% stoppage rate as an MMA fighter reflects his efforts to add potent submission grappling and fight-ending striking power to his game, as well. Since signing with BELLATOR in 2017, Cotton has scored two rear-naked choke submissions and three knockouts. He will look to continue his winning — and finishing — ways against Rosta at BELLATOR 283.
Dalton Rosta, 26, is as physically imposing as his apt nickname “Hercules” suggests. The Mat Factory product hailing from New Castle, PA, has been flawless throughout both his amateur and professional MMA careers to date. Joining the BELLATOR roster in 2019 as one of the top amateurs in the country, Rosta coasted to three straight knockout victories before reaching the judges’ scorecards for the first time in October of 2020. A powerful wrestler with capable striking, Rosta has continued to dominate opponents with a relentless pressure on the feet and the canvas.

After already presenting some amazing movies and documentaries on the platform with ‘RocKabul’, ‘A Punk Daydream’ or ‘Soaring Highs And Brutal Lows’, THE PIT (aka the first ever SVOD platform dedicated to the ROCK & METAL universe), unveiled a new astonishing content with ‘Growling Mountains’, available right now on the platform.
In Nepal, the metal scene is thriving. From its beginning at the end of the 90s, where only a few bands existed, the scene has spread to around forty active bands. The film – directed by the Frenchwoman Aurore Laurent – meets five of them and actors of that underground movement. A generation of Nepalis who wants to get emancipated from traditions and violences that the country has known the last twenty years.
Aurore Laurent is working in Nepal since 2007 where she co-directed 2 documentaries with Adrien Viel. In 2011, they released Aadesh Baba: So be it and Three Shamans in 2014, a documentary about shamans of Nepal in three different ethnic groups. That same year they released a book of photography and text about shamans of Nepal, with the publishing company Naïve Livres.
Along with Adrien Viel, a collection of filmed shamanic rituals is also available online. Invested in transmission and sharing, Aurore Laurent teaches editing and is also a video editor on various projects when she is not filming. ‘Growling Mountains’ is her first film directed in solo.

RYAN BADER DEFENDS HEAVYWEIGHT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST NO. 2 RANKED CHEICK KONGO IN MAIN EVENT REMATCH IN PARIS.
PARIS – A massive night of championship-level MMA guaranteed to bring fireworks is set for this Friday, May 6 from the Accor Arena in Paris and airs live at a special time of 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT on SHOWTIME.
Anchoring the card will be a heated rematch between BELLATOR Heavyweight World Champion Ryan Bader (29-7, 1 NC) against French combat sports legend and No. 2-ranked heavyweight Cheick Kongo (31-11-2, 1 NC). Both Bader and Kongo will be looking for closure when they run it back inside the BELLATOR 280 cage, following a controversial no-contest stemming from a disputed eye-poke during their first meeting in 2019.
In an equally action-packed co-feature event, Yoel Romero (13-6) who was originally slated to take on Melvin Manhoef at 205-pounds, has agreed to meet No. 7 ranked-Alex Polizzi (10-1) on less than a week’s notice. Polizzi has won three consecutive contests en route to his opportunity in Paris against one of the sport’s most popular athletes.
Newly announced, No.6-ranked middleweight Lorenz Larkin (23-7, 1 NC) will now face Kyle Stewart (15-5) during the Bellator 280 main card. France’s Davy Gallon (20-7-2) will go to battle in front of his fellow countrymen and women when he faces Switzerland’s Benjamin Brander (13-8) at lightweight. Opening the Bellator 280 televised card, English middleweight Mike Shipman (14-3) will clash with proud Parisian Gregory Babene (21-11, 1 NC).
Nine titillating preliminary matchups have been announced, including a smash between former featherweight title challenger Pedro Carvalho (12-5) and newly signed Polish standout Piotr Niedzielski (16-4), plus a 160-pound contract weight clash between “The True Viking” Søren Bak (15-1) and England’s Charlie Leary (17-12-1).

HONOLULU, HI (Wednesday, April 20, 2022) – In preparation for a weekend full of fight action, BELLATOR MMA 278:Velasquez vs. Carmouche main card fighters and select BELLATOR MMA 279: Cyborg vs. Blencowe 2 / Archuleta vs. Stots combatants spoke to the media today before putting their talents to the test inside the cage on Friday, April 22 and Saturday April 23 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena.
Warming up the cage ahead of the BELLATOR 279 card on Saturday, BELLATOR’S Friday show will be headlined by a Women’s Flyweight World Championship matchup between undefeated Juliana Velasquez (12-0) and women’s MMA pioneer and No. 2-ranked flyweight Liz Carmouche (16-7). Two fire-cracking wild card bouts will also take place as part of the Bantamweight World Grand Prix between Enrique Barzola (17-5-2) who will be facing Nikita Mikhailov (9-1) and No.9-ranked Jornel Lugo (8-0) challenging Danny Sabatello (11-1). The winner of Barzola vs. Mikhailov will move on to face Magomed Magomedov (18-2) and the winner of Lugo vs. Sabatello will fight Leandro Higo (21-5). In a light heavyweight contest, Christian Edwards (5-1) will fight No. 9-ranked Grant Neal (6-1). Opening the televised card in a 160-pound contract weight bout, Manny Muro (12-7) will measure his skills up against Nate Andrews (16-4).
Part one of the duo of events BELLATOR will be hosting over the weekend, BELLATOR278 is a special event for current military, veterans, and first responders. Admission can be redeemed at the box office beginning at 2 p.m. HST and is free for any individual with valid proof of military or work identification, plus a guest.

“Carmouche is a very experienced fighter but today I am the world champion, not her. I look at the poster and I’m super stoked to be here. But I think I should be in the women’s pound-for-pound discussion. I have one fight coming up and my name is for sure going to be on the list after this matchup.
“Carmouche is definitely my most experienced opponent, but I don’t think she’s my hardest task. A fight is a fight so let’s see what happens. I think Lara from Colombia and Ilima-Lei Macfarlane were my toughest opponents.
“I just want to solidify my belt at flyweight but it’s definitely in my plans to go up and become the first woman to hold two titles simultaneously.”
“I think everybody talks about Velasquez being a black belt in judo. That’s the most challenging thing but at the same time, if the ground is where she wants to go, I’d love to show her what the ground looks like with me. I don’t think that’s something she’s going to want to use. I think she’s going to want to keep it standing.”
“I think in part it’s a front that she’s saying I’m not her toughest test. If I am being overlooked, great. I love being underrated. It just makes it that much sweeter for me.
“I saw zero evolution in Velasquez from the Macfarlane fight to the Denise Kielholtz fight. She looked like the same fighter in every fight that I’ve seen so far.”
“I feel very good. I’m excited for this opportunity with BELLATOR. I’m ready for this fight on Friday. I was always ready for this opportunity and waiting for it. My coach and my team told me every day that this was a possibility. I just had to keep continuing my training. This opportunity is great for me.
“The change in opponent didn’t change much. It’s no problem for me. It’s the same work. My work with my team was great. I believe in my team. I believe in myself and my coach. It’s the same. I’m happy for this fight with Nikita Mikhailov.

“I wasn’t even supposed to be in the tournament, obviously. For me to get in, two people had to fall out. Not one, but two. That happened. The fact that I’m even ranked, I’m 8-0. I’m not supposed to even be ranked. I just so happen to have more fights in BELLATOR than most of these other guys like Brett Johns, Danny Sabatello, Enrique Barzola. These guys are veterans and they’re not ranked. But because I’ve been here for so long and have five fights, I was ranked.
“On paper, I think Sabatello is my toughest test to date. But I think people are judging him too much on paper. If you watch him fight and you break down his skillset, I don’t think he’s my toughest fight.
“You know exactly what Danny is going to do. He’s coming in there to shoot low and to try to hold on to me the whole time. With me, you never know what I’m going to do. I might go in there and wrestle. I might go in there and stand. I might move around a lot. I might walk you down. I’m not going to tell you exactly what I’m going to do but it’s a good thing that the question even has to be asked.”
“I think that people that really study the sport and know MMA already know my name and know how good I am… I think people that do understand the sport know how good I am and know my capabilities. They know that I’m more than capable of winning this whole f*ing tournament and not only doing that but dominating everybody along the way.
That’s really the goal. My goal this fight against Jornel Lugo isn’t just to beat him. I won’t be satisfied just beating him. I need to f*ing torture him.
“The problem with this sport is that people only remember you from your last fight so that last fight, I didn’t get a finish. But I am a finisher. I finish almost all my fights. BELLATOR confirmed today that undefeated Welterweight World Champion Yaroslav Amosov, who is actively defending his home country of Ukraine, has withdrawn from his upcoming title defense against Michael “Venom” Page on Friday, May 13. “MVP” (20-1) will now face No. 4 ranked Logan Storley (13-1), who is fresh off of a career-defining victory over Neiman Gracie, in the main event of BELLATOR 281 at the OVO Arena Wembley in London. The new matchup between Page and Storley will see the two world class fighters vie for the Interim BELLATOR Welterweight Title.

Everyone knows that heavy metal music has been associated with horror imagery and occult behavior. More over, the musicians and fans of the genre know that’s all bullshit and only used to freak out the squares. From Ozzy’s Suicide Solution trial to the Satanic rambles of Slayer, heavy metal has long been the target of sexually confused adults that believe the boogyman will embed himself in the minds of suburban youth.
However, with that caveat out of the way, one North American powerhouse of metal, recently had a close call with the necro-kind. Canadian thrash metal band, Turbo, one of the hottest and best metal bands coming up in the scene, recently found evidence of the living dead while filming their newest viral music video.
Last year Turbo released their debut album “Fast as Fvck”.
It is a thrash metal rollercoaster of a musical ride that grabs you by the dick and doesn’t let go until bust a riff-inspired ear nut. It’s all metal. No bullshit. No apologies, but without all the glitz and glamour of a Snakeoil Salesman band really trying to sell you on it. According to the Turbo, this is something a bit grittier, a bit more street, a bit rawer, and a bit more real.
We caught up with the thrash masters to hear about their legendary new EP and get the true story about what it was like to come face to face with the walking dead…. AND LIVE TO TELL ABOUT IT!
Slickster: Glad you made it on time. I know it’s hard with all the press conferences on your books these days!

Slickster: Awesome video for the “Alive!” Should we stop talking about The NWOBHM? I mean it’s furcking 2022. Metallica hasn’t released a listenable album since, The Black Album. Maybe it’s time we just move on? Thoughts?
Turbo: Well, considering Metallica had nothing to do with the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement, I figure we should at least talk about it a BIT more ahaha.
Slickster: Ok, I have some hard-hitting journalistic questions regarding your amazing video for the new single “Alive!”.
Turbo: Okay, shoot!
1. I noticed you had a mosh pit in the ball pit. Did the blue balls feel any different from the pink balls?
Turbo: Blue balls felt super unfulfilled and cranky. We thought they were just being dramatic.
2. It looks like your drummer’s shoes got really muddy. I’m sorry about that. Not a question, just feeling bad. Turbo: It’s alright. Muddy shoes are a condition that affects us all!
3. The amusement park seems to be haunted and I see you captured some video proof of ghosts (or zombies) of the deceased riders watching your performance. (See screen grab). Were you ever scared of the riders who died and came back to life to haunt the chapel?
Turbo: We were honestly hoping to catch more of them! It would’ve been the biggest crowd we’ve drawn in a long while, what with Coronavirus restrictions and everything. Truthfully, they were more scared of us than we were of them. Good eye for catching them though!
4. Whose idea was it for the slow motion, freeze frame high five? That guy should get the first crack at the groupies on the bus. Turbo: It was actually all four of us that came up with the idea! So we’d all get the first crack at groupies if we weren’t all so butt-ugly!Slickster: Ok, serious. Today’s pop music is garbage, am I right? JK. You guys have some ferocious chops. How do you hone your skills to the razor sharp shredding skills?Turbo: Wake up. Make coffee. Pick a lick. Practice it bruuuuutally slow until your mind and fingers turn to mush. Take a nap. Wake up. Practice lick a tiny bit faster. Rinse and repeat until you sound inhuman. Then pick a new lick.Slickster: Is your album self-funded? How did you handle that?Turbo: Our album was entirely self-funded, and the fact that it was also entirely self-made (recording process was all done by us) certainly helped. We just pay for everything out of pocket and completely gamble on ever making it back. Fingers crossed!
Slickster: Oh yeah, in your new single from Fast as FvCK, you sing the lyrics about being “burned alive”. One time I ate a bunch of Waffle House at 2am when I came home from a shitty strip club. I didn’t really want to eat there but I was drunk and spent most of my cash on this stripper named Nebraska. She had a c-section scar and got fucking pissed when I asked her to dance to some FUCKING METAL! She only had Def Leppard on her Cricket phone. And I was like… “Def Leppard ain’t metal babe.” She got her g-string in a bunch and left the stage, probably to give my friend a HJ or something. But it didn’t matter because another stripper, with a smoking hot body, came on stage next and I waded up some bills and threw them at her like a Nolan Ryan fastball.
Anyway, we left the club I was craving some smothered and diced hashbrowns. The local Waffle House was open and they had a jukebox. But the only good song was Journey’s “Wheel in the Sky”, and I got 5 plays for a dollar. So, of course, I played that fucking song FIVE fucking times. This one badass old dude in the corner, was like, “hey bro, why didn’t you play Waylon Jennings”. I was like, “because metal is life geezer!” And he just nodded and said, “Damn that’s cool. I never thought of that.” But we became best friends and he told me had a pet dragon named Falcor or some shit.
So I finished my food and went home on the bus and then when I got home took a huge shit. I thought it was a poop, but it was only gas! I farted so much it filled the entire house, and my loser roommate at the time was like, “hey I’m jerking it to some JAV porn. I can’t even focus with all that smell.” So I lit a match to get rid of the smell… and KABOOM! The entire house exploded from my anus methane leak, which was also the inspiration of Joe’ Stump’s second demo album, “Rapid Anal Explozion”. Luckily, I wasn’t burned alive, because I grabbed the 1993 Playmate College Girls special edition I kept hidden from my wife’s BF and covered my face with it.
Turbo: I feel like I have to be drunker for this… I don’t understand the question here, but I’m glad you’re alright! Shits like that can be scary! Also, Def Leppard rules, I don’t care what anyone says. I might get some heat from certain bandmates for saying that here, but fuck it.
Slickster: But your lyrics “burned alive” reminded me about that time I faced death and survived. It was pretty metal. Anyway, what are these lyrics about?
Turbo: This song is basically a testament to bad decisions, and craving any kind of adrenal rush in life. Considering your last question, I feel like you can probably relate to that emotion. We have our share of strip club stories ourselves, and I had a poop that almost killed me earlier today even!
Slickster: What’s next for Turbo?
Turbo: Well we have a whole new album in the works of being cooked up and broiled called “Ruthless Forever”, which we’re really excited about. We’re hoping for a bunch more touring, a bunch more hijynx, a bunch more debauchery, and a bunch more fun interviews like this one!
Slickster: Anything you’d like to promote?
Turbo: Well aside from the aforementioned music video for “Alive”, we also have a short tour around maritime Canada with our buddies in a band called Deadwolff coming up starting on April 4th in Fredericton, New Brunswick and ending on April 9th back in our hometown of Halifax, Nova Scotia. We’re just too pumped to get back on the road again. Due to COVID, it’s been forever!
