If you know the Minnesota Timberwolves, you’ll know they don’t win a lot. In their last ten years the best record they had was 40-42, but things are looking on the up and up with Andrew Wiggins, Dunk Champ Zach Lavine and Karl-Anthony Towns, AKA KAT, AKA ROY, AKA Twitch streamer karltowns32.

Karl-Anthony Towns’s Twitch Stream

When he’s not busy putting up a double-double, KAT has been setting up a Twitch channel which most recently featured Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and streamers HikeTheGamer and TypicalGamer. With a steady stream of followers coming in and a constant stream of comments begging for a follow, delusional Knicks fans saying “PORZINGAS FOR ROY” and suggestions of NBA 2k16 instead.

As a streamer, KAT is pretty laid back, letting his teammate’s constant shouting counter his calm demeanor while he repeatedly runs into the same bullets over, and over, and over again. Jokes aside it is one of those really cool experiences to see a larger than life personality (Seven Feet is definitely larger than life) do something so normal. ]

Although it’s hard to exactly call it normal when it’s clear someone else is moderating the stream while he plays BO:3 on the PlayStation 4. Fun Fact: When you’re the top pick in the NBA you can afford to have an 80 inch television to play games on. 80. Inches. That’s over six feet.

Televisions that are taller than me aside, it’s interesting to see celebrities venture further and further into the realms of gaming. With other NBA players like Jeremy Lin coming in to do commentary about how much they play Dota 2 and Utah Jazz player Gordon Hayward explaining how easily he’d kick Lebron James’s ass (in League of Legends), video games are officially in the forefront of the young NBA players’ minds.

E-sports are being featured on ESPN’s Facebook and website, so don’t be surprised to hear about Rocket League: Hoops mode to be featured at the All Star Game next year.
