World Series of Fighting – Global Championship (WSOF-GC) will promote their next event, WSOF-GC 4 Deep vs Global on December 17, a co-promoted event with their Japanese affiliate organization, DEEP Fighting Championships, to take place in Tokyo at Differ Ariake Arena.
The feature bout leading into the night’s main event will showcase legendary veteran, Masakazu Imanari (34-16-2), as he steps into the Global Decagon to face off against highly touted Tatsunao Nagakura (12-5) for the vacant Deep Featherweight Title.
The 40-year-old Imanari, a previous Deep Featherweight and Bantamweight Champion, has been competing in MMA professionally since 2000. During that time, he has beaten some of the best fighters in the game including submission victories over UFC veterans Nam Phan, Jorge Gurgel, and Mike Brown. Imanari has won six of his last eight matches, all via submission.
Contesting him for the vacant strap will be Nagakura, who began his career with Deep in 2008 and is riding a four-fight win streak. This will truly be a match-up of styles as Nagakura has eight wins by KO/TKO against the 24 submission victories by Imanari.
Fight fans from around the world can watch this bout and the entire 18-fight card, starting live at 9:30 p.m. PST on December 16 for just $9.99. WSOF Global will host WSOF-GC 4 Deep vs Global at Differ Ariake Arena on December 17, 2016, at 14:30 JST (UTC +9). Tickets start at ¥6,500 with VIP seating available for ¥16,000.
