6. Straight
Five cards in a sequence, but not of the same suit is the sixth best hand ranking in poker. It is strong, but can beaten by a number of other hands.
7. Three of a kind
Simply put, this is three cards of the same rank. On the lower side if the hand rankings in poker, but still enough to win the game if you are skillful in reading your opponent’s body language at the table. If you are playing video poker, this obviously won’t work, so place your bets cautiously.
8. Two pair
What’s better than a great pair? Two different pairs, of course.
9. Pair
Everyone loves a great… ahem,… pair. No, we’re not talking about strip poker. Two cards of the same rank equals what is known as a pair. This is one of the most basic winning hands, and you might be surprised how far this can go. But don’t blow your wad of cash just yet, there are many more poker hands that outrank this lowly duo.
When you haven’t made any of the hands above, the highest card plays. Oh well, it’s a game of chance, right? Are you feeling’ lucky punk?
